Meet Attorney Thennisch

Jeffrey P. Thennisch is an intellectual property attorney and founder of the Thennisch Law Group.  Jeff has extensive experience procuring, protecting, licensing, and litigating domestic and international patent, trademark, and copyright portfolios, as well as managing and monetizing global intellectual property rights.

During his nearly thirty-year legal career, he has received multiple accolades and awards as one of the “Michigan Super Lawyers” and as a “Top Lawyer” in the field of intellectual property law by The New York Times and DBusiness magazine.

Jeff is admitted to numerous federal courts throughout the United States and is a Registered Researcher before the U.S. Copyright Office in Washington D.C.

Jeff is a graduate of the GMI Engineering & Management Institute (now Kettering University) in Flint, Michigan, and earned his Juris Doctor (cum laude) from the Northern Illinois University College of Law in Dekalb, Illinois.

In addition to being the author of numerous published legal articles on intellectual property issues, Attorney Thennisch is also a frequent lecturer and presenter on the issue of “Artist Advocacy” for musicians and performers to receive maximum legal benefits for their individual creations.

He has appeared and testified before members of the House Judiciary Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Senate Judiciary Committee of the United States Senate, and the Congressional Black Caucus in Washington, D.C. on a wide variety of intellectual property matters and ways for artists to monetize their creative works.
